New Combination of SlimLipo and Fat Transfers with PRP
Did you ever wish you could regain a more youthful look in your face, have larger breasts or fuller buttocks? If the answer is yes, did you also wish that, at the same time, you could also lose unwanted fat without undergoing major surgery and without significant downtime?
Most bodies have some stubborn fat deposits that even diet and exercise cannot alleviate. Now, a new combination of innovative procedures can help you reshape your body. Slim Lipo and Fat Transfers with platelet rich plasma (PRP) are the latest trends in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.
A traditional liposuction has been the method of choice for removing body fat. Unfortunately, it can sometimes result in residual skin that needs to be surgically removed and it leaves behind an unwanted scar.
SlimLipo is a laser-assisted liposuction procedure that can help to melt body fat and tighten the skin. The procedure melts and permanently removes the fat cells from the treated area and also promotes tissue retraction which ultimately enhances the contours of the focused area. An advantage of the medical advancement of the SlimLipo is that the procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation, while traditional liposuction requires general anesthesia. After local anesthesia is administered, a pinpoint hole is made during the SlimLipo procedure to place the laser. The laser uses two wavelengths, one to “melt” fat, and another to tighten the skin. This reduces the trauma to tissues and allows for a post-operative period with minimal pain, bruising and a quick recovery.
Patients usually return to work within a couple of days and a compression garment is worn for two weeks to reduce swelling and help enhance skin retraction. Skin tightening starts immediately after surgery and improvement continues over the next six months with noticeable changes in the skin thickness and texture. Cellulite can also improve significantly after the procedure. Areas that can be treated include the abdomen and flanks, inner and outer thighs, knee area, banana roll, bra line, neck, arms and gynecomastia. Other areas may benefit from this procedure, as well, and that is determined at consultation.
The procedure also offers additional benefits, including the advantage of utilizing the extracted fat to perform fat transfers. The healthy fat can be harvested and used to improve other areas such as the face, breasts or buttocks. Special equipment is used to yield the fat before doing the laser-assisted liposuction. Fat is processed with a centrifuge leaving only the small viable fat cells and stem cells which improves the success of the procedure. In the past 50% of the cells would be lost; now 80% will successfully survive for over six years. Some of the small cells will grow in size, keeping the fullness of the area.
The benefit of using PRP is that it has shown a significant improvement in cell survival. PRP is very rich in growth factors that stimulate cell growth, new vessel formation and collagen regeneration. The addition of platelet rich plasma (PRP) to the fat transfer procedure assists with changes on the skin, which improves skin texture, thickness, and wrinkles. PRP, also referred to as the “Vampire Facelift,” can be done as a stand-alone procedure to improve skin texture. The combination of fat and PRP is injected through a needle to enhance one’s breast, rejuvenate the face or enlarge the buttocks area (known as the Brazilian butt lift).
The ability to perform the fat implant through a needle reduces the risk of scars and improves recovery time. The development of new techniques of fat transfers is offering natural alternatives to implants and fillers. Since the tissues come from your own body, the risk of rejections and complications are minimized. Fat transfer can also be used for reconstruction of defects or depressions after breast surgery or other surgeries that may leave an area needing more volume.
SlimLipo and Fat Transfers with PRP are designed to help you look your best and should be complemented by a healthy way of living that ultimately makes you “look, feel and act younger.”
