AgeFocus Medical Management, always on the cutting edge of science and technology, has been performing Stem Cell and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapies for almost ten years. Harvesting stem cells from the patient’s own bone marrow and adipose cells, we have treated our patient’s chronic joint pain and tendon problems.
In March 2016, AgeFocus has partnered with Park Avenue Stem Cell in order to further improve and develop this extraordinary therapy. We enrolled in a patient research program and are now part of a national research group under the umbrella of Cell Surgical Network which collects data as part of an ongoing investigative process to help advance regenerative therapy for our patients. The FDA, who currently do not endorse stem cell therapies, and an IRB (Institutional Review Board) will review our submitted data.
This exciting new partnership with Park Avenue Stem Cell allowed us to improve the process of separation of the patient’s own fat-derived stem cells (now called SVF: Stromal Vascular Fraction). We are now able to increase the number of pure stem cells obtained during the harvesting process as well as increase the number of conditions that are treated with Stem Cell Therapy. Not only do we now inject them into the affected areas, but we can also administer them intravenously (IV) and into the spinal fluid. These treatment protocols are part of the national patient research study.
For those patients that want to have their stem cells saved for future use, or require continuing treatments, the stem cells can be sent to a tissue bank to be frozen and stored. The new option of expanding (growing) the stem cells has also been approved, so patients will have an unlimited number of stem cells to be used in the future without the need for new harvesting.
